Family in France! Day 6 - Besancon!!!

This post was apparently lost during the Blogger maintenance, though all the others were restored, so I do not know what happened. It's too bad, but I will sum up the day in pictures.

So, finally, my family coming to see where I've been living and working for 8 months - Besancon!

On the bus in "Btown" as it was a bit difficult to pronounce -
they were happier than the picture shows, I promise!

Dad and Donna in a square downtown

Pipi and Anica walking in downtown Besancon

Eating our first meal at a ... Turkish restaurant....

Dad and I in the main square

On the oldest bridge with one of the many hills in the background

Our tour of the city took us to Fort Griffon, where I think there
are the best views - you can see the whole city

Explaining the layout of the city

Pointing out how all the hills have military forts on top

Walking around Fort Griffon

On top of Fort Griffon

Walking along the river (The Doubs)

Taking a well-deserved break in a park along the river

Pidgeon frenzy! People were constantly throwing old baguettes everywhere

We attended mass at one of the old churches
(this one being over a thousand years old)

Pipi and Anica just before service

Anica at the back of the church at the end of service

We took it easy and simply toured the main parts of the city and attended mass at 6:30pm. We were all tired and got to bed early.

Love,
Katie
